Now that the All Star break is behind us (along with the unpleasant couple of days without baseball), it’s time to get back in the swing of things with daily fantasy baseball, and my Saturday FanDuel lineup is just the thing to help you do that. Feel free to use the whole lineup or just choose specific players, but however you use it I hope that it helps you rake in some cash today!
Wade Miley ($7,200) — home vs. CHC (Travis Wood)
Miley has been striking out over a batter per inning since the start of June, and his July ERA is at 1.25 through 3 starts. He also gets to face the Cubs who over the past month have struck out more than any other team in baseball against lefties
Devin Mesoraco ($3,500) — road vs. NYY (Brandon McCarthy)
McCarthy has allowed a lot of home runs this year while Mesoraco has hit a lot of home runs this year. See the connection? Not to mention that even though they’ve only faced twice, McCarthy has never gotten Mesoraco out.
Miguel Cabrera ($4,900) — home vs. CLE (Corey Kluber)
This is Miguel Cabrera we’re talking about, no explanation needed. Oh and by the way, he’s 12 for 24 with a 1.455 OPS against Corey Kluber over his career. ‘Nuff said.
Dustin Pedroia ($3,100) — home vs. KAN (Danny Duffy)
Hitting .333 in July, .429 (3 for 7) against his opposing starter, and .312 vs lefties in his career, all the numbers line up for Pedroia to have a field day at the plate. And his solid price tag is just icing on the cake.
Chris Johnson ($2,600) — home vs. PHI (Cole Hamels)
Sure he may be facing Cole Hamels, but who cares because Chris Johnson is hitting .400 against LHP since the start of last season - higher than anybody is baseball in that span.
Troy Tulowitzki ($4,600) — road vs. PIT (Charlie Morton)
You really can’t go wrong with picking Tulowitzki. Oh and by the way, Tulo was hitless last night. Since the start of June he’s hitting .514 in games following a hitless one.
Jose Bautista ($3,700) — home vs. TEX (Colby Lewis)
One of the game’s best home runs hitters sporting a career OPS of 1.442 against his opposing pitcher, who also happens to be a fly ball pitcher with a 6.54 ERA? Yes please!
Matt Holliday ($3,100) — home vs. LOS (Zack Greinke)
Holliday has been heating up lately, but yet is still priced like he’s an outfielder stuck in a platoon role. You can’t really go wrong with the potential at this price.
Jonny Gomes ($2,200) — home vs. KAN (Danny Duffy)
Gomes should be in the lineup today because he is facing the left-handed Duffy, and I don’t see how you can ignore someone with a .403 OBP (vs LHP this year) set at the cheapest price possible.
