I hope everyone had a great 4th of July yesterday and that you are able to spend some quality time with your loved ones over the extra-long holiday weekend. But if you find yourself playing daily fantasy baseball today, here is my recommend FanDuel lineup with some players that you’ll want to make sure you own in your daily rosters.
Anibal Sanchez ($8,300) — home vs. TAM (Chris Archer)
Sanchez has been solid this year and although he hasn’t been striking out as many batters as he did last year, I’m expecting that to chance today against a very week Rays lineup.
Wilson Ramos ($2,900) — home vs. CHC (Jeff Samardzija)
Ramos is currently riding an 8-game hit streak where he has struck out just once during the streak, and has had good success against Samardzija in the past (4 for 11 with 2 HR).
Garret Jones ($2,800) — road vs. STL (Shelby Miller)
When Jones left the Pirates at the end of last season, Shelby Miller was probably rejoicing that he was no longer in their division. Jones has demolished Miller in his career, slashing an insane .700/.750/1.500 in 12 career plate appearances against him (7 for 10, 2 2B, 2 HR) while never striking out!
Howie Kendrick ($3,200) — home vs. HOU (Scott Feldman)
Kendrick has been heating up with 3 multi-hit games over his last 4 contests, and has great numbers against Feldman (10 for 22, .455 AVG) who has allowed at least 2 runs in 11 straight starts this season.
Lonnie Chisenhall ($3,600) — home vs. KAN (Jeremy Guthrie)
Chisenhall is in the middle of a great season, and Jeremy Guthrie will only help that today. A career 6 for 13 against him, Chisenhall typically performs better against righties and Guthrie will be no exception today.
Jean Segura ($2,700) — road vs. CIN (Homer Bailey)
Segura has decent career numbers against Bailey (.350 OBP with 3 SB) so maybe I will get lucky here, but this was mostly to save money for my next pick….
Ryan Braun ($5,000) — road vs. CIN (Homer Bailey)
Before going 0 for 3 last night, Braun was riding an 8-game hit streak where he was hitting nearly .400. He has great career numbers against Bailey (9 for 27, .333 AVG, 4 2B, 1 HR), so look for the hot-hitting Braun to pick up right where he left off on Wednesday.
Jay Bruce ($3,400) — home vs. MIL (Matt Garza)
Bruce is a super streaking player, and although he is 0 for his past 20, he was hitting .457 over a nine game hit-streak right before that. Today could be the start of a new hot streak as his awesome numbers against Garza (8 for 19, .421 AVG, 3 2B, 2 HR) bode well for him to break out of that slump.
Matt Kemp ($3,100) — away vs. COL (Jorge De La Rosa)
Hitting in Coors field is always great, especially when you have amazing numbers against your opposing starter. Kemp is a career 15 for 33 with 4 2B and 3 HR (.455 AVG, .909 SLG) against De La Rosa, so as long as he’s in the lineup Kemp should have a solid outing today.
