Original Article Below;
This years rookie WR class is absolutely ridiculous. Many of these guys are about to burst onto the fantasy scene in a big way. We have high expectations from the likes of Brandin Cooks, Kelvin Benjamin, Sammy Watkins, Jordan Mathews, Marqise Lee and Mike Evans. That is one amazing group of talent. All of these guys will have a big role on their respective teams. I wouldn't be surprised to see several of them post similar fantasy seasons as Keenan Allen did last year. There's no doubt that the above list of rookie WR's are on most everyone's radar. Let me now shed some light on why another rookie WR may end up being the best fantasy asset of the bunch in 2014.
Cody Latimer is a freak athlete that is as talented as any in this rookie WR class. He's a former college hoops player and that has translated well for others in the NFL. He also has the size 6'2 and speed (he ran a 4.39 40 yard dash on a broken foot) to be an absolute beast! As if this weren't enough to get you excited about him, he's also a complete football player - the type of player that gives Coach Belichek a chubby. Latimer is a gamer with toughness and great ability like Hines Ward, Anquon Boldin and Roddy White. And it's hard to imagine that he has superior size and speed to these three Hall of Famers, but he does and that is f'n scary. Especially when you consider the following.
1.Peyton Manning is his QB.
2.The Broncos are the top offense in NFL.
3.Eric Decker is gone and Latimer is the obvious choice to take over Decker's role and Latimer is a superior athlete. *Decker averaged around 80 catches, 1,150 yards and 12 TD's over past two seasons.
4.Welker and Sanders are smaller, slot type WR's that fit a different role in the offense and won't really threaten Latimer.
5. Latimer has the size, ups and hands to thrive in the red zone.
6. The Ballblogger says so.
7. Believe me, this list could keep going.
Do yourselves a favor and take a look at a recent take Chad Jensen from PredominatelyOrange.com had on Latimer.
Get this guy on your team because his ADP is a missile that is about to launch into the fantasy stratosphere.
