I really enjoy 2 QB leagues. I've been playing in them for several years now. Here's some of what I've learned and have to share about them..
First off, any league size of 12 or fewer can easily start 2 QB's without any issue and here is how. In 8 team leagues you're all set to go ahead and make 2 starting QB spots since there are 32 NFL franchises. In 12 and 10 team leagues, you can achieve a 2 QB league via a QB flex spot. Simply set up your league so that owners need only start 1 QB but have the option to flex a second QB. This resolves any QB shortage issue's that may occur. Since QB's score the most fantasy points you'll want to make sure to take advantage and be able to have 2 QB's to deploy each week. There is a chance that with bye weeks, injuries and some league mate that is a QB hoarder that you may not not be able to find a second QB to start but this can be dealt with. To take further measures to ensure that 2 QB's will be available to each owner, you can implement a limit as to how many QB's each team can roster and/or you can give owners the rights to all the QB's on the actual NFL team of their drafted QB. In other words, if you draft Aaron Rodgers and he gets hurt, you would own the rights to his backup and any other Green Bay QB. MyFantasyLeague.com provides this this custom feature. I recommend you give them a try and run a league on their site to see the many custom features they provide. I'm running the Ballblogger's Fantasy Legends League on their platform.
My favorite league to play in is 12 team in size with one starting QB spot and the ability to flex another QB. in three years, there has only been one week where I wasn't able to start 2 QB's in this format. Being able to start a second QB adds more weekly fantasy interest. I also think it is an advantage to the more dedicated fantasy player as it adds more necessary studying and decisions to make when selecting your optimal weekly roster.
There you have it. Now go get a 2 QB league going on MyFanatsyLeague and see for yourself just how fun it is..
